"Went there last Sunday afternoon, and have to say that this is one of the friendliest pubs I have visited for a long time. It has recently been taken over by Viji & Janie, who went out of their way to make us welcome. Great atmosphere, great beer, and a fantastic live band (called "Blue Blisters")playing from about 4:30 until after 7. Apparently th ..."

" Oldest pub in Wales and possibly oldest in Britain, built before 1100. Courthouse upstairs where 180 poor souls were sentenced to death and hanged on a beam on the stairs over the centuries. Plenty of ghosts in this place !! Medieval doors and windows, flagstone floors, roaring log fires with a ledge to leave a drink for the devil. Cobble sto ..."

"This pub has changed little in its decor for at least 30 years (apart from the ladies toilet now moved inside and the gents now have to que outside!). Real ales and a good mix of clientel.Pity about the lack of good cider. ..."
