"An attractive pub that never fails to disappoint with their food. You can make the food sound as attractive as you like but if you order a toasted snack you do not want some cremated remains as we got last time we went there. OK, every day I see the vans delivering the ready prepared meals but you would think they could microwave them satisfactorily.Staff friendly & helpful, not so the management."

"The last reviewer must be the manager. I have been in this pub twice in the last 6 months, first time I had to wait 10 minutes to get served while the barmaid was chatting on her mobile phone to some mate; second time there were no real ales available and, as I had the dog with me, I had to sit out front in all the traffic fumes. Recently my partner went with a friend for an evening meal and see described it as the worst pub meal she had ever had - they had to send their meals back twice before they got anything that was warm and the service was terrible. Being English she didn't complain but she certainly didn't leave a tip!"

"The Coach and Horses is well known in Thorley and across Bishop's Stortford as a fine country pub. A popular pub restaurant famous for great food, it is perfectly placed amongst Thorley's several grade II listed buildings. There is always a warm welcome with roaring log fires, freshly prepared food, a great selection of real ales and a diverse wine menu for you to choose from."

"Been going to this pub for some time, generally good value. Today though ordered a steak sandwich. Well if it was 2oz then that would be a miracle. I bought to the staffs attention but still was charged full price. Shouldn't have paid but did. However did find out that they are supplied in packets and there is nothing they can do about it - their words not mine. My view OK for a beer, food very very average, and there are plenty of better pubs in the vicinity.
