"It is rather sad to say that this pub is no longer trading. It is believed that Palmers (the owners) decided that it was no longer viable when the last landlord left. This is not really surprising as in this road there were three Palmers pubs, the Boot, The Oddfellows and the Kings Arms.
According to the local rumour mill the plan is to convert it ..."

"As you step through the door of the King Charles you can feel the sense of decompression from the 21st century as the clock spins amiably backwards to a less pressured time. No one here is in a hurry, the term gastro-pub is an unheard of stomach disease of the future, swirly carpets are smart but practical and a re-fit is probably something to do ..."

"This pub has recently changed hands to a couple who are new to the trade. They have really raised the standard of this nice village pub. This is a tied inn so only Palmers supplied beers are available. Regular beers are Copper ale, IPA, Guinness, Kronenberg lager, Carlsberg and Blackthorn cider.
