On 06-6-2011 realitycheck said : "Although the pub offered good food, (breakfasts were excellent,)and was clean and tidy we were disappointed with our accommodation. Party booking of 8+ rooms over the weekend but some of the facilities not as expected or promised; bath plug missing; not warned about steep stairs when booking for older people; led to believe one family room was ensuite but turned out not to be, large family room booked for 5 which suddenly became unavailable. Also really noisy function room on same floor as bedrooms. We were disappointed and felt that had we been told about the potential noise problem, could have made alternative arrangements. Staff friendly but need to feed truthful information when bookings are taken or risk loosing revenue and reputation."

On 21-6-2010 reddragon5961 said : "New landlord for the past two years.Now a Robinsons pub usually with 5 real ales on at any one time. The pub is clean and very friendly and allows dogs in the front bar. Food is very good pub grub especially the steak & ale pie and the gammon.There is a regular change of a selection of specials aswell.Overall well worth a visit I dont think you will be disappointed."

On 16-2-2005 wildwillie said : "Called in one Sunday lunchtime. Landlord a bit stressed because people were sitting at the tables. Once he had calmed down we drank some Jennings Bitter (excellent) & ate beef hotpot which was good value for £4.95. Worth a visit if you are passing"
