| On 08-10-2009 joegaarden said : "Ok, This place has come on leaps and bounds since my last report. The new management are putting a huge amount of effort into making this a nice pub to visit. Yes, It's main focus is the 'alternative' crowd, but at least they can have a decent pint now. Sunday's are in perticular a good day to visit this pub, with live bands playing most evenings.
Great improvement."
On 27-5-2008 joegaarden said : "The potential for this place is astounding..A really old stone building (said to be Dewsbury's oldest pub), with wooden beams on the roof, and various farming tools affixed to the walls that would make Jethro Tull proud.. But... unfortunatly over the past year the standard of this pub have dropped into something horrible. The beer is not of this planet, a mixed broth of water and whatever has been in the lines the last 6 months, leading anyone with any sense to drink from bottles only..but check the date! This pub needs some serious TLC, and it could be a real winner."

On 17-5-2004 pois305 said : "The Old Turk is only open in the evening thursday to sunday. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest. Friday night has a Rock n' metal disco by Gazz n' Phil (hell raisers) and saturday there is a "anything goes" disco playing music from the 60's thru to present day on a request basis. This is done by the Yorkshire Yeti!!!
The Beers in the Turk are damn good. Loads of lagers, bitter and bottles and all at a fairly reasonable price. I can recommend trying this place....u might just like it."
