On 14-11-2008 michael_scott said : "My wife and I visited this pub last night,for the first time,on the evening of Thursday 13th.November,2008,and I found three real ales on sale;I was very impressed that when I ordered my first pint I was asked friendly whether I had drunk it before and when I said no the lady behind the bar offered me a drop to sample which I did and then went on to sample three pints because it was nice! (I was driven home) My wife and I found the local regulars there very friendly,and very engaging in genuine conversation. We have been in the area since May 2008 on a part-time basis to see our children and grandchildren but this pub will stay one of our very favourites. The greatest compliment I can give both the pub and its staff and drinkers is that it is NOW like old-fashioned NORMAL pubs use to be like! Lovely. michael and mary scott,seamer."
