On 22-2-2006 thespicester said : "Larger than the front would lead you to believe. Cosy enough of its type. Decent (quality & price) food menu seems to ensure the place is usually busy. "

On 24-1-2005 sogs said : "No idea what the other reviewers saw in this place! Has always been dirty dingy and damp. Rose Street has some pretty crappy bars located in it and my god this one is the cream of the crap!"

On 10-7-2004 millay said : "A fairly large pub with double frontage halfway along Rose St. Local rumours tell of the attempted murder of an English bank manager here some years ago, perhaps he turned someone down for a loan. In one corner of the bar you will find a small window seat next to which you can see where a telephone was once located. In the days before mobile phones this was colloquially known as "I'll be home late" corner. "
