"I have recently been mailed a review of this pub which to be honest does not surprise me - the place has went downhill big time, in fact I would avoid it at all costs - lots of bad reports coming from it and it no longer is the reliable trustworthy place I knew it as. Sorry to say this as it had turned in to another bigoted Glasgow bar."

"Traditional pub serving an older clientele/ office workers through the week and a livelier football/ party crowd at the weekends.
Friendly staff/ relaxed atmosphere.
Handy for city centre drinking - close to bus station etc.
Good range of beers plus 35ml measures for spirits. £1.95 for a vodka & coke - brilliant!
Traditional style menu - steak pie is excellent.
Also has good sized function rooms for private parties, clubs etc."

"I used to work here few years back...scary place...I was told to swear at customers as I saw fit, saw quite a few fights in my short time, always in the function room, the best went all the way through the room, down the stair and on to west nile st, but cheap drinks and the customers there were never a good mix...worth a look if you dare"

"This is a pub for neds. This guy must be joking if he thinks that the management keep out dodgy customers. The place is full of them. Just like Alfredo's across the road. Make sure you've had your shots before going in here."

"The Iron Horse is a wee bit of an institution for me. It's one of thos pubs that does not look particularly clean and always smells of fried food but it's hand y for most things - especially bookies ! I have drank in here over the years and remember it as the old Iron Horse, which was a different shape, then Metro and Furlongs and then back to The Iron Horse, its relaible, honest and fairly trustworthy. The staff are nice and pleasant and the manager keeps the real dodgy people out, but hey, this is Glasgow - its not Beverley Hills - this is a real pub."
