Had a sunday lunch here and was impressed by the quality - no frozen roast potatoes or veg here.
Beer quality good, normal range of real ales for this area. Think it is hall and woodhouse brewery.

It's a vary old 1780ish Hall and Woodhouse pub that seems to specialise in high quality reasonably priced bar food during the day and all sorts of organised entertainment during the evenings. Food is great value and is all home cooked.
This is one of very few proper town pubs left.
