"What a pleasant suprise this pub turned out to be! Wandering in after a walk down canal from Slawit we didn't know what to expect. Heard it was a bikers pub and loud music was common, but what a utopia we found. It was about 5:30 in the afternoon there was about 30 people in the pub. A few young-uns playing pool, work men bar and some families sat down eating. Yes they do food! We were greated by a very happy bubbly friendly bar-maid who quickly pulled me a perfect pint of real Tetleys, the wife had a bottle of Magners...cost less than £5! not bad today. Every one seemed to know each other and were laughing and sharing jokes, but we were never once made to feel outsiders, on the contary we were chatted to like locals. Chalk boards on the walls advertised the entertainment , something every night...poker...live bands...disco...karaoke...quiz. But we saved the best till last, walking out the back door onto a 2 tiered decking/patio next to the canal and totaly hidden from the road. Amazing. We had another round and caught the bus back to slawit, but my wife is determined to get me singing on the karaoke so we return. Joking apart the pub was a breath of fresh air...friendly, clean, good beer at good prices and an amazing outside area. Will def be going back."
