On 21-12-2005 djt344 said : "Nice surroundings and atmosphere creatad by low celings and open fires. Sadly had a bit of a disaster witht the food: mine was fine, but my wife's lamb shank was a very poor cut. Upon politely mentioning it to the waitress, she returned and said 'that no one else had complained' thus implied it must be our fault. It was quite an expensive meal as well. If you are reading this I would recommend you try the White Hart first, which I have visited several times without cause for concern. I won't be returning to the Black Bull however."

On 17-2-2004 hally40 said : "A bit tight for space all round when it's full, which it often is. Several interesting nooks and crannies inside. Food not expensive and varied enough, and promptly served (usually) - but it is popular which can cause delays both with seating and serving."
