"Walking the dog from Brentford to Richmond and happened to spot this place (my companion needed to use the loo!) at about the halfway mark. We got a lovely warm welcome and found that the dog was welcome too (as were three others while we were there). We happened to be more in need of a cup of tea (and it was a lovely brew) than a beer on this cold ..."

"we visited the royal oak during the hellish august of '03. the skys over london were dark with the exhaust of autos and lorrys and trains and jets and whatever else was running on petrol. the air was as hot as a furnace. the royal oak was an oasis both inside and out - on the patio where bryan regaled us with his stories about working as clown ..."
