I used to drink in there myself, i don't recall ever seeing any bands on there, only a dimly lit scruffy old pub. Don't get me wrong, it was a great pub at the time & i had many a good time in it but how the f**k can anyone compare it to The Pub which has only been open for 3 years. Kev & Debs who own it had never even heard of the Scot so how can you say it's a pretend Scot. There's more going on in The Pub than there ever was in the Scot so if you prefer the pretentious clientele in the Greggie then bloody well stay there !"

The staff are really friendly, some of the customers leave a bit to be desired (by that I mean there are quite a lot of old blokes who look like they've hit the booze hard pretty much their whole life). But if you actually quite like pubs where theres an interesting mix of people who are non-judgemental then I suggest this place. Overall customers are great and bands are pretty good. Only thing that i would ever suggest they change is maybe putting a darker colour on the walls of the side room with the pool table in it. Its very white at the moment! And doesnt quite fit in with the rest of the pub's atmosphere. Overall great locals pub! Not pretentious like so many in lancaster now. "

On 26-8-2008 ziggyzag said : "Try this pub. Friendly atmosphere and great live bands (when they are 'original' bands and not just the same old covers bands)."

On 03-2-2008 blondy83 said : "Out of Five pubs this pub had to be the best whilst on our night out Sat 2nd Feb '08. For those of you who like Fantastic, Loud, LIVE Rock music then this is the Place. My first time on a night out round Lancaster and the second pub we visited and truly enjoyed ourselves...watching a Band called "Full Tilt"...Awesome... Fare Range of Drinks...Real Guest Ales...Bar Staff Friendly...A mixture of Clientele...Smoking Facilities at the Rear...A typical local Pub...Situated on Main Road so no parking at the front but easy to walk to."

On 09-8-2007 ham said : "For anyone who likes great rock bands & good beer this is a must try place on a Friday & Saturday.Bands play till 12ish & the bars open till 1am. A bit quieter during the week but this gives you the chance to have a quiet pint and meet the regulars (the pool team are a friendly lot) Clientele are a mixture, bikers obviously as this is a bikers pub but a whole veriety of aliens drink here as well. all friendly & out for a good night out. See you in there."

On 04-8-2007 westpennine said : "Great pub under new ownership. It probably struggles during the week, but at the weekend it's a whole lotta punters,a whole lotta atmosphere a whole lotta good beer, a whole lotta great live music...... and a 'whole lotta Rosie'."

On 12-5-2007 tweeters said : "Its been a long time since anyone has commented on The Pub so here goes. I usually go into the place to watch the great live music they seem to put on.The best free live venue for miles. The beer is well kept and its always great to see real ales in any place. The landlord is always friendly and obviously enjoys live music and seeing people enjoy it. It gets very busy on Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm. Nice place to pop in for a quiet drink in the evening. Great juke box as well. Lancaster used to have a lot of Rock based pubs ( Tramway, Fat Scot and Boars Head ) and you see many of the same faces in The Pub. It may have taken a while to convince locals that its now a rock venue and not a gay bar but more and more are finding out. It's well worth a visit."

On 31-8-2006 rinkydink said : "Okay, this place doesn't deserve the rating it's got.... yet - having only just been rebranded from a gay bar to a biker bar (one pole to another!) we should give em a chance - I've been in midweek and it's friendly - they've got bands on at the weekend so are putting their money where their mouth is - lets give em time and then see what happens! So far so good tho!"

On 18-6-2006 dale said : "Went into this 'bikers pub' last week, bit quiet, but new proprietors are going for it and punters I met very friendly."

On 18-2-2006 tinytony said : "Sat in the bar and waited for an eternity to be served. Ended up serving myself. The beer's somewhat stale and the atmosphere is best described as minimalist. Nice to have a bar completely by myself, though I would have been warmer and less dark if the electricity had been turned on. Still, for a pub that's been closed since 2004 and it's a damn site better than the Litten Tree."
