The staff are really friendly, some of the customers leave a bit to be desired (by that I mean there are quite a lot of old blokes who look like they've hit the booze hard pretty much their whole life). But if you actually quite like pubs where theres an interesting mix of people who are non-judgemental then I suggest this place. Overall customers are great and bands are pretty good.
Only thing that i would ever suggest they change is maybe putting a darker colour on the walls of the side room with the pool table in it. Its very white at the moment! And doesnt quite fit in with the rest of the pub's atmosphere.
Overall great locals pub! Not pretentious like so many in lancaster now. " Report

For those of you who like Fantastic, Loud, LIVE Rock music then this is the Place.
My first time on a night out round Lancaster and the second pub we visited and truly enjoyed ourselves...watching a Band called "Full Tilt"...Awesome...
Fare Range of Drinks...Real Guest Ales...Bar Staff Friendly...A mixture of Clientele...Smoking Facilities at the Rear...A typical local Pub...Situated on Main Road so no parking at the front but easy to walk to." Report

I usually go into the place to watch the great live music they seem to put on.The best free live venue for miles. The beer is well kept and its always great to see real ales in any place. The landlord is always friendly and obviously enjoys live music and seeing people enjoy it. It gets very busy on Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm. Nice place to pop in for a quiet drink in the evening. Great juke box as well. Lancaster used to have a lot of Rock based pubs ( Tramway, Fat Scot and Boars Head ) and you see many of the same faces in The Pub. It may have taken a while to convince locals that its now a rock venue and not a gay bar but more and more are finding out. It's well worth a visit." Report

So far so good tho!" Report

Nice to have a bar completely by myself, though I would have been warmer and less dark if the electricity had been turned on. Still, for a pub that's been closed since 2004 and it's a damn site better than the Litten Tree." Report
