"Close to Headingley stadium & hence popular on matchdays. No real ale when I visited but it is rumoured that they do occasionally have guest beers."

"A few years ago this used to be a lovely pub. It had a bowling green along side the pub with a lawn so well kept that was like a snooker table. This pub had a carvery at a time when other pubs didnít know what the word meant. There was never any hand pulled ale but the facilities made up for that weakness. Eventually the place gave way to the demands of the students over the wishes of the locals.
The bowling green was covered in chairs and tables, the grass disappeared, the carvery gave way to fast food. Itís a year or two since I was last in here but good memories may tempt me back in out of curiosity.
