"Since coming out of the army in 1985 this has been my local from work and I frequent there reguarly and the friendly warm welcome from all staff makes this pub probably the best in Leeds city. Prices are very reasonable and the varied range of customers seem to enjoy a night or two when visiting Leeds"

"This is a good pub that always seems to be full. The crowd are middle aged to older, an age group that knows how to appreciate a good pint.
Here you will find Tetleys Bitter at its best, the manager keeps a good cellar and his prices are very reasonable compared to others. I have no hesitation in recommending this pub.

"A fantastic pub and the best pint of Tetley's you will get anywhere. Ian (the landlord) has been here for a number of years and keeps a good house and a good pint and has kept the price down (£1.83 as at July 2008). This is a working-mans pub so the language can at times be 'fruity'. Sadly this pub and the surrounding area are due for demolition in 2009 to make way for 'improvements' and a new shopping centre."

"One of the old type of pub in the centre of Leeds, a easy relaxed atmosphere with character, and if you have hearing/speech (deaf/dumb) problems, then this is the place. "
