On 02-4-2008 wildwillie said : "Walking into the Grove is like stepping back in time to when pubs were warm, welcoming establishments. Superlatives fail me trying to describe the atmosphere in what must be one of the five best pubs in the north of England. Nice range of hand-drawn ales from Deuchars, Elland, Daleside, Moorhouses and Leeds Brewery plus scrumpy on draught. The pub is surrounded by tall modern buildings but once you get inside you are in an oasis of calm & sanity. Seek out this pub and enjoy."

On 06-12-2007 mikecr said : "Not just eight hand pulled beers, but an excellent portfolio. Also worth going for the banter; no need for cabaret with staff like you'll find here, plus Donut the dog. A must for those who like real ale and real pubs."

On 21-2-2007 conk said : "Cracking old-style boozer 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. Always at least 6 beers on, always in excellent form"

On 06-9-2004 thespicester said : "magic old fashioned boozer with an excellent and deserved reputation as a live music mecca. visit here next time you're in leeds"
