"Called in for a pint & nothing has changed except the prices. Fitting that I had a pint of Leeds Best."

"Quite literally an architectural gem ! Even though it's a building. The beer used to taste like p*ss but this year it's improved so much it's quite drinkable. Actually quite nice actually. Sometimes. Free live Jazz from 9.30ish on Thursdays. There's a lottery for the band but they don't rig it even if you tell 'em it's your birthday. Bit mean I think. They're good but should vary their repetoire a bit more. It's now officially a crime to walk past this pub without popping in and having one !"

"This is great traditional old Leeds pub. The bar and surrounding woodwork is very ornate, its like walking into a stately home. There is usually a good selection of house and guest beers but its here that my praise ends.
The place has become too expensive to drink in. I used to have a good session in this pub regularly but now only call in for the odd pint. I understand its owned by the same company that owns the Palace, both pubs are now too expensive for regular boozers. Far better to walk 100 yards up the road to the Cuthbert Broderick (Wetherspoons)

"Pub building is lovely but that's all. I have persevered with this pub over the years and have yet to have a decent pint. It is overpriced and not a boozers pub. "
