On 10-6-2009 oadbylass said : "Good place for drinks as prices cheap as chips, food is appauling though, tastes like it's been murdered by a microwave. Gets full in the Summertime but front windows open fully and have a nice feel to it."

On 30-3-2008 lozza83 said : "This is your bog-standard weatherspoon drinking hole. Cheap beer, good food and plasma tvs. Frequented by people spending their benefit money during the day and many students at night. However it remains overall a resonably nice gastro-pub."

On 08-11-2005 zarins said : "i denounce my last comment of 6mths ago, this place has really turned itself round, (obviously because of good management) i must have just had a bad experience one time. having spoke with the manager i can assure you all that the beer is in date and top quality, they also have a good range of guest beers often from local breweries (for the real ale fans out there) and a good selection of continental bottled beer. the menu has changed recently and has a good selection of finely made food. above all the staff are great in this pub and keep trouble makers out so you can have a peaceful drink, infact everytime i go here they make me smile, i just want to lick chris hornes (alcard) bald head, geoff has a wicked smile with all the charm of the devil to match, and the women are gorgeous (even when im sober!!) keep up the good work guys!!"

On 22-10-2005 nige said : " Whew... far be it for me to pry, but what happened regarding Eugene's barring? And while I'm hear can I namecheck Spoon's greatest regular... Richard the glass collector! He deserves to be on the pay roll... like Jim in Eastenders. Erm... "

On 21-10-2005 awb said : "Now this pub is a typical wetherspoons, they are the same evreywhere in the country like a mcdonalds cheap and nasty with a studenty transient workforce payed minmum wage. When i went to this particular one for the curry club i was most dissapointed the poppadom was somehow soggy and the naan bread rock hard! beer was cheap i'll give em that, altho i didnt return for many a moon at this time i tried the steak and it was terrible, ive never returned or gone in a wetherspoons since, that is all."

On 19-9-2005 rob2010 said : "Been drinking here for 2 1/2 years. Quite a pleasant little pub. The lights do get turned down very low in the evening and it does seem to attract a lot of students but, generally ok. They do excellent steaks on a Tuesday evening (I actually had a steak last Friday which was the best pub meal I've had in a long time). The staff are friendly and good humored (most of the time!). If they could sort out the problems with some of their customers (I'm thinking kids area, 8pm friday night lot), who incidently are the ones leaving complaints here (Zarins) then it would be a great pub."

On 28-8-2005 lady_k said : "If you enjoy sitting in the dark, listening to the drunken ramblings and rants of old men and eating nast microwaved food this is the place for you....it's also next door to 'Poundstretcher', nuff said!"

On 12-6-2005 eugene said : "Words don't come close to expressing my rage for this "pub" the atmosphere is akin to an airport lounge, the lighting is non existant and during summertime the place heats up like a greenhouse. The food on the menu appears to be gourmet until you eat it and realise its just prepacked microwaed food and don't get me started on the beer - it's sure to give you gut rot!"

On 30-5-2005 zarins said : "Cheap and nasty, staff dont know what there doin and are unfriendly, mmmm nice microwaved food. whatever"

On 17-5-2005 nige said : "i advise any visitors to take a torch in with them, its bloody dark"
