On 17-10-2013 mauler said : "Keeps ticking along nicely under the same format."

On 12-12-2011 kaizen99 said : "Sadly, Grant has now sold this pub, but luckily to two locals, who wish to keep the pub as it was. This means that the beer range, both real ale and continental beers, remains. The pub is now open all day, every day and the Italian thin crust pizzas have had other meals added. The manager is Gareth Hunt, formerly of the Pump and Tap (not demolished), so he is not new to the trade. A highly-recommended pub to anyone seeking a haven from the rush of the inner city. Cheap food too. "

On 17-7-2008 nick_renshaw said : "Grant is probably one of the best in the business. He really does know how to run a pub, he really sets the foundations, a wonderful guy in a wonderful establishment. Cooky, best of look to ya, will be in over the weekend, ill be the guy sat in the corner with a pale ale or maybe ten, ha ha!!! No, but seriously, cracking work pal!!! Need I say more, no I dont!!!"

On 26-11-2006 kingfisher said : "Superb pub for real ale, Belgian beers, beer festivals, relaxation. Now Grant is back in charge it has regained its position as a mecca for choice and comfort."

On 07-8-2005 thequaffer said : "I remember going in here just once during the late 1970s when it was awful, and its location near the Infirmary was very handy! Completely transformed now into one of Leicester's small number of excellent real ale pubs. Comfortable and traditional multi-area interior and good range of well-kept beers. "

On 26-7-2005 mauler said : "The feel of a local just outside the city centre.Good beer and food."

On 10-4-2005 filsor said : "I just love this pub, real ale and friendly staff. "

On 29-9-2004 orson said : "Good range of quality local ales always in superb condition often scrumpy and cider available. Vast range of world beers including many a world classic. Friendly pub close to Infirmary, football and rugby grounds. Good toasties."
