On 10-10-2007 mac1 said : "Loughboroughs number 1 selling cocktails, the two funniest and interactive barmen/owners and an amazing atmosphere for a small bar in a big town. Students, locals and out of towners visit in large numbers and the prices are very competitive. Weekend nights see a massive gathering of groups out for parties or just social evenings and an array of cocktails, shots and lagers keep them keeping back for more. Obviously 'no smoking' on the premises and to it none of these little smoking areas outside as what would be the point if we need to 'kick it out'. Come on down and enjoy the night of your life and sample the entertainment of Mark and Ant behind the bar. They give it and they take it just make sure you are ready for the backlash. "
         

On 23-4-2007 hlh1977 said : "Hi just to let you know, the scary woman behind the bar has left, as did Hayley the owner of both Blue Banana and Hayleys Ba. However it is still connected to her as her Brother and his Mate now run it! They have many special offers and all you've gotta do is go in and enjoy it. The has had a bad reputation in the past, but doesnt everything!!! Give this ago, at least you can say you've tried! Oh by the way, they aint gay owners!!!"

Used to be the 'legendary' Matt's Bar, then turned into the Blue Banana for about 3 hours until yet another re-branding into Hayley's (surely Blue Banana was better?). Very much an establishment for youngsters; most of the drinkers seem to be actual foetuses. I'm sure I've seen umbilical cords trailing behind some of them as they climb onto the pool table for a quick dance. Not the cleanest of places, I once inadvertantly stole one of their stools after it stuck to my backside. The woman behind the bar is also the embodiment of many of my nightmares. Weirdly I am drawn to this hell hole every time I go out. Perhaps they wipe it all over with the pheremones they sell in the (stinking) toilet. Worth a visit for a unique experience."
