"We went to the Hansom Cab on an August Sunday lunchtime for a family meal - seven of us in total, including two children.
I cannot fault the excellent service - the lady who helped us to our table and - it would seem - cooked the food was attentive and very friendly.
The range of food available was good, including the traditional 'ham egg and chips' on both the grown-ups and (separate) children's menus.
As the previous review said, the decor was rather dim, but the atmosphere was very friendly - the dining area was away from the main bar, where pool was being played and a football match shown on the large televisions.
It's a good, down-to-earth, family friendly pub by all accounts - a little far to be my 'local' but we will definitely return... I might try the beers next time (we were on the coffee and teas today, both of which were more than satisfactory!)"

"What a great pub! The landlord Steve is very friendly, his wife les is a diamond among all the cut glass.
I have never been into a pub where you are so warmly welcomed. OK so the decor leaves a little to be desired but steve & les cant be responsible for that, they have cleaned it up lovely. It only has one cask ale and that is IPA but boy what a fantastic pint it is! Trade has dropped a little recently but that is probably due to the fact that they are routing out all the druggies, I know they have got rid of a few.
They really deserve to do well, they are a topping couple. The customer service is second to none and occasionaly they put on disco karaokes and live music. so hey if you live in stopsley get down to the cab its fab!!!!"
