On 06-5-2005 andymartin said : "This is a wonderful pub -!- and in the best tradition with it´s great atmosphere and emphasis on being professionally run by the landord and his wife, who are Oggie and Pat. This is a no.nonsense pub in the sense that a standard of behaviour is expected here and those that can´t respect it are (thankfully) not welcome here! However, families and children are indeed welcome and a special area is allocated within the pub/restaurant so that kids aren´t running amok! Wheelchair access is provided for - full marks for that! The food: Superb - generous portions and price concessions for the senior citizens too. A lot of hard work obviously goes into this pub and it is a very well run and maintained Inn. There´s a fine selection of wines and beers on offer to compliment the home-cooked fare. Pat and Oggie are a great couple and no strangers to the trade. They are deservedly popular with their locals and are as friendly and helpful a couple as you could hope to find anywhere. This is one pub that´s got it all, from atmosphere, welcome, clientele, professional management, food and service and a large car park. Enjoy but don´t tell everyone! Oh well, if you must...and please, give Oggie and Pat my very BEST regards! 100%!! Andy Martin in Germany."
