On 04-9-2005 jimmy7 said : "'The Shoes' is a great pub for a summer afternoon, with a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a lovely secluded beer garden to the rear. Service is very efficient and food is served at lunchtimes (possibly evenings as well). A no-swearing policy is in operation which keeps the chavs at bay Considerably better than the clinical Bluebell just down the road, my only complaint would be that in the evening you have to sit on one of the benches on the common in front of the pub to catch the sun."
