"my family and I visited this pub on the sat 17th jan 09 for an evening meal at 5ish. there was table space but with some reserved. After seeting we placed our orders for 2 burgers and chips, pizza and a soup.was still kept waiting three quarters of an hour later and my wife had to enquire where meals were! they came out staight away which led my wife to believe that the meals had been sat waiting for the waiter to bring out, both burgers where, well, warm is over rating! the soup was hot and pizza edible but htis event had spoilt the evening. what has made me laugh is the fact that we had to wait until AFTER the meals had come the waiter then went to fetch the cutlery!!!
my family and I only live 2 mile away and used to frequent this pub on average 2 a month but we shall not be going back for some time!!!!"

"Visited on a Saturday lunch time, just my wife and I. Wasn't especialy busy, found a table without problem. Found service to be very slow at bar and table. When food did arrive, found my steak to be completely undercooked to how I asked. Raised this with waiter who took it away, and brought me some re-heated/fresh food - not completely 100%, but left my wife eating alone, and subsequently my meal alone when my food was brought back. Nearing the end of my meal, I found a dead fly under my steak. Again raised this to the waiter, who wouldn't provide a manager just apologies. Found the pepsi to be extemely high-priced, and completely flat, though no replacement was offered either, just a verbal apology. In all, one of the worst meals and dining-out experiences I have had. Have since complained in writing to head office, and very little responsibility admitted, and just a lightly worded apology and detail of a meeting to tell the manager to improve. Has put me off the Marstons chain completely."
