decided to stop as we enjoyed the meals when we were in there last, which i have to admit was several years ago now.
My first impression was that the outside could do with a bit of repair, there were no lovely flowers as there was last
time we were there and the benches looked a bit scruffy and in need of repair.
We then entered into the lounge area and ordered some meals. The service was quite slow and the staff seemed like they
were in another world half the time. They also looked quite scruffy in my opinion which put me off a bit.
The meal was actually ok but I think the portions were a bit small, I saw the pound meal advertised but I didn't like the
sound of a meal for one pound so I ordered off the main menu.
The landlord I noticed was quite drunk (I presume it was the landlord as he was back and forth the bar quite a lot and he was
rather loud and swearing a lot, and again, looked rather scruffy, not a good image for a nice country pub I felt.
I then visited the toilet before I left, as did my wife, the first thing I noticed was the horrendous smell! It was very dirty
in there, looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a good while. I mentioned this to my wife as she had visited the Ladies before
we left and she said exactly the same thing she statedt that the toilets smelt, the toilet roll holders were broken and there were
blood marks up the wall along with brown marks up the walls, god only knows what the brown stains were!
It's such a shame that the pub has gone downhill quite a bit when all it would take is a bit of hygiene and cleanliness.
I hope for the sake of the history of the place that it is restored."

So this could tell a story.don't break your necks to get here as disappointment will ensue."
