On 17-7-2008 albertangelo said : "A lovely local pub that's refused to go the way of the other pubs in the Golden Triangle - that is, it doesn't go out of its way to cater to students and the upwardly mobile. The selection of beers is good, the staff are very friendly, as are the (very regular) regulars. A good mix of people - ranging from the young to the very old, from the working-class to the middle-class - and a good balance between men and women. Great atmosphere too, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Cosy, comfortable and refreshingly old-fashioned(ish). The only drawback - too much live TV football that attracts the one pint drinking non-pub goers who clog up the rooms."
