"Pleasant enough but I do feel it is very much a locals' pub which doesn't feel as welcoming as perhaps it could on a first visit. Nice selection of beer, well kept. "

"Strange little pub. I have frequented this place twice the second time was just to see if it was an off day.
Its quite a clean pub but the toilets are very smelly and not very pleasant esp for the wife.
The Broadside was o.k but wonder if its used that much as was not quite upto the scratch of the fat cat.
The service behind the bar is not that great with a the little old bar man being very rude and quite obnoxious and after speaking to a local outside in the smoking shelter was always like that! The second time there was a bar maid working who was pleasant enough but seemed to be pre-occupied with one of local men never in our lifes witnessed anything like it in our 69 years between us he broke into a tirade of abuse at her for looking at another man when she was serving, not pleasant we drank and left on this!
The Clientele a very strange mixture in mine and my wifes opinion could be described as Shameless meets the Royale family, not very pleasant conversations with profanitys reguarly being heard above our own conversation especially with the barmaids "freind".
Needless to say 2 visits and 4 pints to bring us to the conclusion of not returning and amongst conversation between freinds who have frequented this place had very similar experiences.
I guess we are not there target market and we have found a gem of a pub up the road in the fat cat which is a polar opposite.
