"I'm just following up on my previous comment, having used this pub many times since. It is very useful to know that this pub is open on Monday evenings when most others locally are shut - and is very busy because of this. There are DiY gigs on Mondays as well, which may be a deterrent to some, especially as you can't get away from this in the fairly small bar area. It also has B&B accommodation. Our Guinness drinking Lab is always made to feel very much at home.
Our other comments still stand."

"We've only just discovered this small village pub, but our initial thinking is 'we like it and we will be back'. It's dog friendly, in the bar, and with quite a few local footpaths to discover in this very rural setting. Food seems pretty good and is also varied and interesting without being over-expensive, but that is not to say it's cheap. Drinks also are pretty varied with a few of the local breweries featured as well as Aspall's cider on tap. They also feature varied 'nibblies' on the bar, which is always a welcome bonus in our eyes.
We were made very welcome, and our food was promptly and efficiently served.
We have yet to discover the toilets (not sign-posted?)to check out on cleanliness, but bar and restaurant areas look good.
There is a small secluded garden out of the back, and a village green out at the front. Both are quite good for smokers, especially on warm sunny days."
