The big roaring fire was so welcome on such a cold night. A friend and I wished to treat our friend Phil who has recently moved to a new job. The food and service were superb, we have all dined around the world, but decided the quality of the food, the service and price were as good we you would find anywhere. I could go on about what we ate, but better still go and try for yourself, you will not regret it."

It was my first time there, but it was recommended by a friend so decided to give it a go. We arrived at about 8.30 and there were lots of spaces to park my car. Once in the pub, I found it very friendly and warm. The staff were friendly and attentive and the pub really had a country pub feel with comfy chairs and sofa's and an open fireplace. The pub and toilets were well maintained and very clean, something that is important to me. There were plenty of drinks to choose from and although I didn't eat, the food I did see served, looked fantastic. We had a fantastic date, which was helped by the lovely surroundings and who knows, if she is lucky, I might just take her back there ;) "

When we arrived we where greeted by a very friendly waitress who showed us to a table and informed us of the mouthwatering specails available that day, i opted for the pate follwed by the salmon and then the cheese cake (they do a very reasonable lunchtime special so it would have been rude 2not try all 3courses) the food was promptly delivered to our table and the presentation was fantastic and my only dissappointment was coming to the end of each course!! the pate was the most delicious i have ever tasted and they salmon was cooked to perfection and the cheesecake was just to die for!! we all had different meals and everything was just fantastic!!! i would most definately recommend this pub the food in my opinion is out of this world, and the staff are very friendly and efficient making it a fantastic dining experience!!We have been back many times since and each time the levels of service and standard of food have been fantastic!! We have already booked our office christmas party there and i have booked for my family to go to the boxing day carvery!! All in all this is a marvellous place to dine it has a wide variety of choices on the menu to suit all tastes and the food is always fantastic!!So if u havent already booked to go you really should its a fantastic place!! However, having heard that there were new owners, we decided to give it another go and we were so glad that we did. The service was friendly and as efficient as youth and inexperience would allow. Our table was a little small but glass and cutlery were both spotless. Oh, and the table napkins were linen!! Our initial disappointment at learning that our first choice of main course was 'finished' was soon forgotten and we thoroughly enjoyed each of our three courses, together with a sensibly priced bottle of wine from the, somewhat unimaginative, wine list. All in all, a very good evening and to prove it we've just booked again for tonight!! "
