"An old coaching inn, like its namesake in Dartford and apparently mentioned in Dickens' Pickwick Papers. Unlike the Dartford Inn this is upper-crust and boring. With its over-priced food and drink you're more likely to find the few inhabitants sleeping rather than raving on a Saturday night. ..."

"This place has the appearance of a wine bar rather than a pub. It does, however, do a good line in beers and lagers. Some of the clientele are definitely of the yuppie variety but this is basically a congenial watering hole and if you do fancy a change just step into the Eagle next door or Aaronn Stone's over the road. ..."

"What a place! This is a real drinkers pub! A spit and sawdust sort of place off the main drag in Rochester, no frills just simple, fantastic beer. Also available are a fine selection of international beers and the staff are very clued up if you need them to recommend you a drink. "Typical dingy little local pub, the kind where if they do not know you then you are glared at by punters and given exceptionally bad service by staff. I went when heavily pregnant as we had just moved to the area and not one person offered a seat. If that is not enough they have two brats who give the neighbours hell.
