"My boyfriend booked a table for us for my birthday at the Denbigh Arms (he did say when he phoned that the person on the phone did not seem very interested). When we arrived on the saturday night coming in the side entrance my boyfriend told the landlord who we were, he mumbled something and disappeared into a side room - I thought he was going to get someone to show us but then he just went back behind the bar. After a while (in which we stood like lemons) he then pointed over to the other side of the pub and said 'it's over there'. We were given a small table right next to the main entry to the pub which was constantly being opened. By this time we had had enough of being made to feel very unwelcome and decided to leave. I would not recommend this pub to anyone."

"To cut a long story short, the pub requires advice on customer service. Recently I went with a group of friends (around 15) to have a meal. The lady behind the bar doubled up as a waitress. This was a sign of things going wrong as one member of the group had to ask numerous times for his starters and two starters were sent back for looking uncooked. When the main came, the timing of the food being served was completely out as by the time some were just receiving theirs, others had finished and had been for about 20 minutes. A curry dish was served to someone and just sat there as she didnt have the rice, a plate or knife & fork. This was cold by the time the rice turned up after we had asked for it and two main courses were completely forgotten about (mine and a friend). yet again, we had to c hase this up and it came an hour or so after the first person had finished his main and it was simply a curry dish with rice. By this time I gave up as I still didnt get what I had ordered (asked for pilau rice and not plain) On the plus side, the pub has a nice selection of real ales to choose from. PS. The tap in the newly refitted male toilets needs tightening up as it spins around the sink when you attempt to turn it on. Then when you do, the pressur eof water successfully jets out of the sink all over your trousers and so it looks like you havent actually visited the toilet."
