"Further to my previous reviews, the pub has just undergone a lick of paint and after being closed for four days (big job!)it re-opened with a free night of food and drink for regular customers. Stones bitter usually priced at £1.99 has risen to £2.30 (15% increase!!) Well for one I will not be supporting the pub due to the unreasonable price increase. Please note beer under £2.00 per pint still available just down the road at The Crosspool Tavern."

"Further to my previous comments Stones cask hardley ever available here. And guess what! it's always available down the road in the Crosspool Tavern (just re-furbished), and 15p cheaper.Incidently this pub? is still in need of a characterful manager to head the operation!"

"whoever redesigned the interior really hit the spot, but unfortunately not all the locals would agree and prefer the down market atmosphere of the tavern just down the road. this place has a lot to offer, there lots of quiet corners, no smoking areas and lots of standing room. perhaps it needs a manager of some character to pull it all together!. stones hand pull always available along with other guest beers."
