On 08-10-2010 wildwillie said : "The dining room has now been revamped. Owen tempts in the punters with an earlybird menu whilst his good lady tempts them with Copper Dragon, Taylors golden best and Smiths cask bitter."

On 12-8-2006 wildwillie said : "Revisited the Cav & the changes are much to the good. The snug is now a pool room which draws in the younger end.The bar area has been smartened up.More importantly you receive a friendly welcome from the landlady who now offers a choice of Theakstons, Black Sheep & John Smiths cask from the wickets."

On 16-3-2004 madge said : "The catering has certainly improved over the last few months - I think they must have a new chef. Sunday lunch is excellent value. They have also got Sky in the tap room."

On 31-1-2004 wildwillie said : "Welcoming local, close to the steam railway. Food served most days. The "Cavendish Grill" is not for the faint hearted!"
