On 17-8-2009 postiebob said : "Another excellent pub in Whitby, they sell real ale and others the food looked excellent theres also a quiet good whisky bar, this pub overlooks the harbour but your lucky to get a seat near the window, my only small problem was there was sport on the tv and the reception was poor, but thats all I could fault, great pub been in three times in the last two months always a good pint."

On 03-9-2007 stevane said : "Very nice pub overlooking the harbour. Good quality beer, Balcksheep and Deucher IPA (didn't get round to the Tim Taylor Landlord!) went down very well as well as the Baguettes very well presented almost a meal in themselves."
         

On 02-4-2006 thespicester said : "At the btoom of the 199 steps from the Abbey has commanding views over the harbour. B&B available. This pub always seems busy and is certainly tourist friendly. Deuchers, Directors and Black Shhep all on Hand pull on our visit."

On 12-10-2003 thebradleys said : "Absolutely the best pub in Whitby - and since Whitby is the place we love most to be it's our best pub full stop - it has everything - a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer and an incredible selection of whiskies, excellent food and in generous quantities, wonderful views of the harbour and the West town. Try it, you'll not be disappointed!"
