"An old pub that has been opened up but which retains a nice period feel. Set right beside the river, hence the name, it also features a rear terrace which overlooks the river and provides attractive views.
Drinks selections are good with Fullers real ales to the fore. When we were there, Red Fox was on and was in excellent condition.
Food is good and from a menu wide in selections.
Service can be a bit slow: it took around 25 minutes to deliver our meals. It was a Sunday but the pub didn't seem to be short of waiters so, no obvious reason why. Also took some time for them to present us with a bill when we had finished.
There were a number of families in when we were there and seemed popular.
The disabled loo was quite bizarre: we watched several mums using it for their youngsters (presumably to take benefit from extra space to change nappies, etc...) but struggling to open the door!
All in all an attractive venue for a drink but patience is required if eating, by our experience."
