"DO NOT GO TO THIS PUB!!!
I visited this pub with my father who is a regular there. Dunc behind the bar bet me £50 to play one of the other regulars at pool. Everyone in the pub was aware of the bet and after I won he refused to pay!!.
I phoned him a couple of days later to give him a chance to apologise but he claimed he 'can't remember what he does when he is drunk' and that a bet is not valid if it is not down in writing!?!?!
I told him that he could well have an alcohol problem (he admitted that he was drunk behind the bar) and a gambling problem (he was constantly trying to up the stakes for my game with no intention of paying if he lost).
If you have any sense of right and wrong you will avoid this pub and people that behave in this manner."

"A small friendly pub very well managed by Duncan & Lesley. A good selection of Ales and Largers. Located right on the river with a small seating area down to the water. Canal boats and other craft can moor and visit the Globe Inn. Clientel are a mixture of loacals plus mostly Londoners who have moved to the area. Friendly and always welcoming. the Globe Inn comes highly recommended."
