"I feel I must respond to the review by the obviously deluded Harry1, first of all we do NOT serve Olives as a starter they are a bar snack served from the bar for £1.50 which is what Harry & co had, and yes they come in a jar!.
Secondly they complained that the Vegetable Lasagne (which is homemade) was reheated well excuse me but do they think that we can just whip up a lasagne from scratch in 20 mins!! I think not. Thirdly to say the pub is a dump is pure spitefulness(just look at our photes on facebook). Fourthly I was not agumentative but simply responding to their comments while my barmen sorted out their refund (which they didnt wait for)I can count on one hand the complaints we have had in three years so am certainly not concerned by their stupid comments. "This pub advertises itself as serving excellent food in a friendly environment, nothing could be further from the truth.
It is a rough pub that serves half reheated, dry, stodgy food at restaurant prices. When we went in on a sat evening the restaurant area was empty, we should have taken the hint.
The starter was olives which came from a jar of brine behind the bar, no oil no bread just cheap unstuffed green olives with a cocktail stick. The advertised extensive wine choice was for White wine by the glass was house White which was crap. when we complained which is the first time I have ever complained in a restaurant the land lady came to our table and argued with us and said that of course the food was re heated, what did we expect!
We spent over thirty quid in this dump and left the food.
Worst meal out ever, went down the road and got a decent meal at a third of the price.
Avoid like the plague"
