'Seemingly the stop off before the gallows in ancient times.....Having experienced the lack of atmosphere on a Saturday night I would have expected the gallows to be a relief.....a standard choice of beer, served in average condition with live(ish) music in the background meant a quick turnaround for me and Lady Lardy. '

'No doubt one for the Friday night crawl....one of the most improved pubs in the area......friendly.....good selection of beer served in great condition, and recently awarded the town pub of the year from CAMRA which was certainly justified from my recent visit with Lady Lardy.Well Done! '

'No doubt my favourite pub in the area....it has everything an excellent choice of real ales and continental beers....good food....helpful friendly bar staff...quality hotel facilies which I believe are being extended......and to round it all off, a landlord wearing safari suits and sandals.....pucker'

'The same as most in the chain......great prices for average beer, great prices for average food, a gathering place for the great unwashed....but has its benefits on the wallet front.Cant get Lady Lardy to go though!'

'One of my must doo,s at the weekend....Very friendly and enthusiastic staff.Good choice and quality of beers.Lovely setting next to the canal.Quiz on a Tuesday night.'

Garstang Pubs : The Church Inn pub in Garstang near Preston
'Good local village pub located just ouside garstang centre.Limited choice of beer although always of a high standard.Does not encourage the younger element(under 50)which is rigourously policed by the original 'grumpy old man' (the landlord). The pub is worth a visit though!'

Lancaster Pubs : Penny Bank pub in Lancaster
'Sister pub of the White Cross,but this is more of a challenge.Great improvements made over the past few months, with both decor and choice of ale. Live bands on a Wednesday night will further enhance its reputation.Its location does however offer some challenges, particularly on a Friday/Saturday where it can be a little rowdy.'
