Margate Pubs : Good Intent pub in Margate
'The Good Intent in Margate is an extraordinary place. Many that go there find it, I think, a real spit and sawdust kind of pub, and perhaps that is true. What really makes it stand out, however, is the nature of the people that work and the others that drink there. If you are willing to look past the reputation (for there is one, so I hear!), you will see a welcoming place, where people are, despite initial appearances, warm and kind. It is true that the choice of beer is somewhat limited, but this is no bar to becoming attached to this mad 'leopard-print plush covered seating' place, run for thirty years now by the marvellous landlord Dink. Yes, Dink. Really! I, for one, count myself truly lucky to have found myself attached to this local pub. I couldn't ask for a better one.'
