'good live music, nice pub, staff are rubbish - takes a long time to get served and they never clean the ashtrays out, or collect glasses infact. Would rather stand behind bar reading the paper then clear the place up. Landlord is welcoming and friendly - just a shame his staff let the side down.'

'Terrible service, when you first reach the bar the selection of beers looks great, but 70% of the pumps were off due to line cleaning .... at 9pm on a thursday night! Bar was sticky and needs a good clean ... nasty sickly smell down the end of the bar. Quite a surprise for a wetherspoons pub. Was thinking about food but the smell from the bar put me off. Have eaten here previously though and its not too bad ... for a microwave meal anyway, I wish chains like this would employ proper chefs and actually cook a decent meal that wasnt pre-prepared weeks ago, might taste a bit better. Very disappointed with this visit.'

'Well worth a visit, the food is fantastic. Gets packed in the summer during the day - office workers choose to have lunch here so quite a wait for food between 12 and 2 - but well worth the wait.'

'possibly the worst pub in the world. Very smoky, locals are trouble, bar staff look miserable. Only had a half ... didn't want to stay much longer. Would not recommend. Also thought the beer was a bit too warm, but maybe I'm being too picky as I really did not enjoy this visit, dared a visit to the toilets - wish I hadnt - they need a good clean.'

Rhyl Pubs : The Dudley Arms pub in Rhyl
'could do with redecorating, but other than that great pub - the landlord is fantastic, always willing to chat and make you feel welcome. Have been in quite a few times now and I've never seen any other staff behind the bar - only ever the landlord, even on a busy night. But he does the job very well, and why change something when its working. Will definately be back again when in the area!'

'this place really has gone downhill. such a shame - had many good memories here, used to be my local a few years back but recently visited the area and had to go in for old times sake. took an incredibly long time to be served not even busy but staff just not paying attn to who is waiting at the bar. the beer was ok, but not the best '

Beckenham Pubs : The Elmer Lodge pub in Beckenham
'fantastic building, looks very impressive both inside and out. Staff are quite friendly and knowledgable too. Not a bad pint, will certainly be back again soon. Food is nothing too special - again microwave convenience food, but still, got it quickly and kept me going long enough for a few more beers! The waiting staff were brilliant though, made the meal a bit more enjoyable.'

'Absolutely love this place ... cosy lounge for peace and quiet and great food. Wooden bar to the other side of the pub which gets a bit noisy when the football is on. A real locals pub but they really are so welcoming and friendly.'

'Really has gone downhill, place is full of children running riot, food is pretty lousy aswell. Oh the staff, I'm not going to go there ... I'm getting angry just thinking about it, absolute waste of time to visit. Awful food, bad beer and all I got from this visit was a headache.'

'definately a locals pub but all are friendly, beer is fantastic, a little gloomy inside - decor a bit outdated but it doesnt let the place down too much - the beer is too good for that. highly recommended'

'great fun atmosphere - the staff are fantastic. was a little worse for wear during this visit and cant quite recall what the beer was like but it most of been good as i stayed for quite a while! had a great time here - excellent entertainment.'

Beckenham Pubs : The George Inn pub in Beckenham
'very nice "old style village" pub. Certainly not in the middle of a small village though! Hate to complain about this pub as I really do like it but the staff do not know what they are doing, more beer spilt over the bar than in the glass at times. Such a shame as I do enjoy visiting this pub when in the area. Can be a bit noisy at times, absolutely packed out at weekends, nice large garden out back which extends down the side and overlooks the high street. '

'ugh, i hate this place ... pub goes dead quite and everyone stares at you when you walk in, which i dont find so welcoming. The staff are ok-ish, i was unfortunately doing a mystery shop on the place so had no choice but to order food, it wasnt worth it. took a long time to come and it wasnt particularly busy so a bit disappointing this one, didnt really look that good either, just chucked on to the plate, the man that served the food looked very annoyed and i felt as though i was a big inconvenience to them, kind of threw it in front of me on the table. needless to say they did not get a good review from me. '
