'The Landlady and the few clientelle in this seedy depressing place do not like outsiders. The Landlady (Commandant) is very miserable with a face like a burglers dog! '

Sunderland Pubs : Prospect Hotel pub in Sunderland
'The "Prospect" is a big imposing building at a large traffic lights junction on the main A690 road into Sunderland town centre, and as such it's strange there are very rarely any travellers frequenting it. It is very good for a quick bite to eat in the lounge, but the ale is not up to much. The bar is depressing and generally has a scattering of the same diehard drinkers. Personally I would knock it down and re-build something deserving for such a catchment area.'
