Wanborough Pubs : Cross Keys pub in Wanborough near Swindon
'I find it really difficult in this country to find a pub that doesn't dissappoint in some area like food, or service or cleanliness (particularly!) But finally I've found a really lovely country pub with an excellent range of high quality homemade dishes to suit all tastes & wallets (!) from simple fayre on the bar menu to more adventurous ideas on the A la Carte menu. The standards of cleanliness and service are extremely high - no sticky tables or dirty ashtrays here! There is a huge garden & car park to the rear with music playing from speakers in the trees which creates a really nice atmosphere outside. They do a fabulous carvery on Sunday lunchtimes where you are given more than you can eat and afterwards the selection of desserts was certainly very tempting but I couldn't manage one as I was too full from the fabulous roast potatoes! It's great for adults because young children are not allowed inside in the evenings, only at lunchtimes and they also do food every lunch & evening... including Sunday nights! Everyone was very friendly and looked like they were happy to work there which was nice. I will definitely be making this pub a regular venue to eat out at! '
