This user has reviewed the following pubs:

York Pubs : The Blue Bell pub in York
'beer range on our last couple of visits has been a bit dull & predictable'
Report

York Pubs : The Maltings pub in York
'Losing its position as York's premirer real ale pub - The Rook & Gaskill is superior in every respect '
Report

York Pubs : The Rook and Gaskell pub in York
'Consistently superb, currently the best beer in York'
Report

Hull Pubs : Ye Olde Black Boy pub in Hull
'Allegedly the oldest pub in Hull, a tiny two-roomer in the Old Town. Plenty of real ale, good atmosphere, can get packed at weekends but it's a must-see.'
Report

Hull Pubs : Admiral of the Humber pub in Hull
'JD Wetherspoons. You know what to expect.'
Report

Manchester Pubs : The Marble Arch pub in Manchester
'Beg to differ with the previous, on our last visit their own beers were all excellent, particularly the IPA. Top pub too, lovely atmos & architecturally stunning. Highly recommended.'
Report

Dewsbury Pubs : West Riding Refreshment Rooms pub in Dewsbury
'Personally found the beer range a bit disappointing on last visit - 2xSheep, 2xTaylors - but saved as ever by excellent Anglo Dutch. Top pub, always busy, too easy to miss the train from here...'
Report

Sowerby Bridge Pubs : Puzzle Hall Inn pub in Sowerby Bridge
'Currently undergoing a major refurb but still open for business. Great beer, friendly service - not quite as good as The Works (50 yards away) but still a top-class boozer'
Report

Sowerby Bridge Pubs : The Moorings pub in Sowerby Bridge
'Lovely pub, lovely setting, but the beer was indifferent at best. Appears to be more food-orientated, which is almost always at the expense of beer quality in my experience'
Report

Sowerby Bridge Pubs : The Navigation pub in Sowerby Bridge
'Lovely pub on the canalside. Beer range limited but in cracking form on our visit'
Report

Sowerby Bridge Pubs : Shepherds Rest pub in Sowerby Bridge
'Excellent boozer, Ossett brewery plus guests (3 of each on our visit), all in fine fettle. Recommended'
Report

Leeds Pubs : North Bar pub in Leeds
'Still a reliable pleasure, although the claim to have 'the finest selection of continental beer in Yorkshire' (I'm paraphrasing a bit) isn't quite true. The Wellington in Hull & The Devonshire Cat in Sheffield are better. Nonetheless, an excellent establishment & the late licence can come in handy...'
Report

Leeds Pubs : Scarborough Hotel pub in Leeds
'Always good beer, handy if you've half an hour between trains. If you've got any longer than that, though, walk down the road to The Grove'
Report

Leeds Pubs : The Duck & Drake pub in Leeds
'Still dead basic, still top-notch beer, still my favourite Leeds boozer'
Report

Leeds Pubs : The Grove Inn pub in Leeds
'Cracking old-style boozer 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. Always at least 6 beers on, always in excellent form'
Report

Leeds Pubs : The Palace pub in Leeds
'Been here dozens of times over the last ten years or so, yet to have a pint that was less than excellent'
Report

Hull Pubs : The Wellington Inn pub in Hull
'Better start the ball rolling then. Tetley cask at all times, up to 6 (& never less than 3) guest ales, mostly from Yorkshire breweries, real cider, 4 continental beers on tap, over 100 bottled beers - mostly Belgian & German. No bandits or pool, best music in town (live every Thursday night), chilled atmosphere, 'interesting' regulars & expert staff... Should declare an interest, this is where I work.'
