Teddington Pubs : The Waldegrave Arms pub in Teddington
'This pub closed some months back which was the best thing that could have happened to it. The former management had at best an amateur grasp of what it takes to run a pub. Its closure has been described as "putting down an injured dog". In it's final few years (with the occasional exception), the staff could only be described as ignorant and poorly trained, many of whom were students at St. Mary's college, and more interested in giving free drinks to their friends than serving the regulars, that is to say those that still bothered to use the place. The beer was, at its time of closure, the cheapest around, and yet still could not attract a decent client base, speaks volumes about the mangement. The site is currently subject to a planning application containing numerous flats and a resteraunt / bar. Good luck to the new owners as it may take a while for the memory of the past management "team" to pass. '
