Stone Pubs : Three Crowns pub in Stone
'ate out at this pub on 26.03.07 for my birthday with my partner and two teenage daughters. extremely dissapointed with food. the portions were just enough to feed a rat. service was poor and we were not asked by any staff if we had enjoyed our meal.if i'd been asked i would have given my thoughts. on my birthday i expect not to cook, but unfortunately, i had to cook a meal for my family once we'd returned home. i ordered my meal which was listed on the main menu as a salad with chicken and asparagus. the meal arrived which was a small pile of cress with maybe 2 oz of chicken, 1/2 potatoe sliced, 3 asparagus which i could not chew, topped with a slice of which bread cut into 4 pieces. it took me approx 45 seconds to each my meal. my daugher had sausage and mash which consisted of 3 small sausage and a small portion of mash potatoe with no vegatables. both of these meals cost in the region of £7 - £8. my 15 yr old had a pasta dish which was probably just enough to feed a 2 year old. my partners plate was bare and considering he's 14 stone builder who works very hard it was like a starter. in fact he could probably have eaten all 4 meals to himself and still eat a dessert. the pub itself was quite cosy. but for goodness sake put the smokers close to the doorway and the none smokers further in. this should make sense as the smoke can drift out of the doors, leaving the none smokers able to breathe.'

Werrington Pubs : Red Cow Inn pub in Werrington near Stoke-On-Trent
'the red cow is a traditional pub with a restaurant. they serve restarant food and bar meals, both of which are extremely good value for money. all the food is cooked freshly and only fresh veg is served. all the staff are friendly along with the local/regular customers. there is amply car parking and a nice beer garden with countryside views. i really enjoyed my meal today which is my birthday. i shared today with my 15 year old daugher. the desserts are lovely if you have room to try one.'

Leek Pubs : The Moss Rose Inn pub in Leek
'both myself and partner have eaten here on a few occasions. they serve bar meals and every time we've been served an excellent meal.both quantity and quality in their bar meals. the pub itself has a friendly atmosphere from both customers and staff. unforuntately a little too much smoke, but the food and service makes up for this. the food is not over priced. tray the hot baguettes and you will not be dissapointed.'

Nancledra Pubs : The Engine Inn pub in Nancledra near Penzance
'We called in The Engine Inn hoping for a mid day meal. We were staying in St Ives for a week. I asked if they were still serving food and the barman handed me a menu which consisted very little choice. As they were soon finishing serving lunch time meals we ordered our meal straight away. As I said, not much to choose from. We chose 2 x ploughmans. Having had ploughmans previously, i presumed it would satisfy my hunger but i was quite shocked at what was placed in front of me. Our ploughmans consisted of a lettuce leaf, 2 baby tomotoes, 1 pickle, a small lump of cheddar cheese, a spoonful of pickle and finally 2 mouthfuls of bread. I also ordered a basket of chips just in case as my partner was quite hungry. This cosisted of approx 10 frozen chips. This cost approx £ 13.50 and i would say our we were served about £ 1.50 worth of food. I have never been served so little food in my whole life and would not recommend this place for food to anyone. the draught beer was ok and the pub itself quite cosy with fantastic views, although the garden could have done with a tidy. Connor Downs Pubs : Bucket Of Blood Inn pub in Connor Downs near Hayle
'We called in this pub as we passed through Hayle. We were staying in St Ives. The name attracts visitors - How unusual. We ordered a pint of draught beer which was very nice. We ordered bar meals from the menu which had plenty of choice. My partner ordered a jacket potatoe which cheese and beans which was well presented and cooked well. I ordered a tuna sandwich which was again presented well and was extremely fresh and tasty. The meal was well priced and the service good. The pub was quiet with a few locals chatting around the bar, which created a nice atmosphere.i would return for drinks and food when visiting cornwall again. '

'Lovely pub, great atmosphere. We had a few pints in here during a week in st.ives. great beer excellent bar staff, great food. i enjoyed my drink outside sitting by the harbour. The patio heaters made it feel a lot warmer as the weather was no too good. Met a few locals and visitors. Overall I would say a busy pub, lots of smiles and happy faces. No sign of any trouble. Congratulations to the landlord. '
