Rhos On Sea Pubs : Cayley Arms pub in Rhos On Sea near Colwyn Bay
'On a recent visit to this so-called pub, I found the bar service very poor indeed. I found myself waiting while staff served queue jumpers who were clearly friends. Service was without a smile. I disciovered that the proprietors were in the bar, but just sat there drinking with again presumably friends, while queues built. The customer service was appalling.
The proprietors just didn't seem to care.
The glasses were dirty.
The beer was warm and ill kept. I mentioned it, but I received shrugged shoulders in return.
The toilets (gents) were dirty.
I've since been told that the food is shockingly poor and hygiene in the kitchen is not up to scratch.
The pub itself is a curious mixture of styles and has no atmosphere.
Any historical features have been erased.
Over all, the whole experience of visiting was horrendous and I could not possibly recommend this establishment to anybody.'

'Showboat's comments say it all.
This pub and the Ship on Llandudno Road has been lambasted by visitors. It is a favourite response from the landlords to bar out anyone who criticises the establishments.
The locals have left in droves because a) the landlords are disliked b), the service is appalling leaving numerous customers to simply walk out c) some of the bar staff are extremely rude d) the landlords will just sit there while a skeleton staff serve a queue of people.
The negative comments outweigh the positive which these latter are 'engineered' by the landlords.
I am a regular in The Ship. I'd go elsewhere if a pub was nearer.
I see all this for myself. All the posted comments on all the pub websites give a poor review of the Ship and The Cayley Arms and instread of asccepting that and addressing it, Showboat, the proprietor claims it is unfair.
I would take you to task, but you would just bar me out. That is your answer for anyone who upsets you or will not cooperate with you.'
