Stone Pubs : The Star Inn pub in Stone
'This pub is great if you are going for a lovely stroll down the canal and to stop off for a nice drink but thats as far as it goes for us,we ate here on 11/8/07 thought it would be nice to eat out for a change,i asked my husband if he could pop and get a high chair for my baby and as soon as he unfolded it it was a bacteria infested high chair i have never seen anything like it in my life,the tray was covered in stale baked beans,straps were black, seat was filthy,legs and foot rest were covered in dirt,caked on food stuck in holes and around nails i could almost peal it off! My husband informed the waitress to which she handed my husband a dirty cloth not the sort of thing you would expect when your a paying customer!!! (if that was me working there i'd take the high chair away immediately and completely bleach it down) i asked to speak to the manager or if he really was the manager as he sure didnt look like one as he had no idea how to talk to customers i asked him if he could look at the high chair to which he replied and said "it will have to be quick as im busy" not the sort of response i was hoping for he looked a bit nervous didnt quite know what to say ,he just had a look i said to him that the straps were really black and that its bacteria ridden,he said "where theres not alot i can do about the straps" there is something that they could have done as i have a similar high chair at home and you can easily take the straps off and bleach them in cold water they come up like new!
We had no apology and all that was said was he'd have a word with staff. Disgusting!!!!!!!!
Food was ok,my husband said he could eat a meal again after the one he had there,def wont eat there again i'd prob go to The Poste of Stone as i cant fault there service!!!
