This user has reviewed the following pubs:
Bridlington Pubs : The Old Ship Inn pub in Bridlington 'Beer's good - decent selection of guest ales. Used to go in at least weekly, but got put off by some of the language and behaviour of a minority of customers.
So, not really family-friendly, despite the owner's efforts. People with children would be best going elsewhere in this coastal resort.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Seabirds pub in Bridlington 'Food used to be good a couple of years ago but it's gone badly down-hill. Not worth bothering at all when they are busy because although they say you might wait 25 minutes you can double that....and then it isn't worth eating.
Beer's OK though' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Coachman pub in Bridlington 'Two real ales always available and a good choice between the stronger and standard ales. Friendly pub' Report
Bishop Burton Pubs : Altisidora Inn pub in Bishop Burton near Beverley 'Owned by Marstons so you get their real ale and guest ales. Good service and good reasonably priced food as well. Avoid Beverley Race Days though!' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Kings Arms pub in Bridlington 'Family run and friendly enough but no real ale these days, they packed it up about a year ago and its all keg beer now. ' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Brunswick Hotel pub in Bridlington 'OK as a bar but dont stay there, whatever you do. Rooms are awful.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Bull & Sun pub in Bridlington 'For more than a year my favourite in Bridlington - used it for food more or less weekly. But lately its gone downhill, food isnt as good and the owner seems to be concentrating on his new hotel rather than this once excellent pub. Still good (real) Abbot Ale though' Report
Kilham Pubs : The Old Star Inn pub in Kilham near Driffield 'Always three or four real ales and an imaginative menu. Welcoming.' Report
Sewerby Pubs : The Ship Inn pub in Sewerby near Bridlington 'It doesnt cope too well in winter though. I went there with my family and only the Banks bitter was on of three cask ales - one had run out and the other "will come on in a few days for the weekend". The food, although good, came from a Menu that bore little relation to the one on their website - although they did, when pressed, offer to do a steak even though it was no longer on the menu.
Very disappointing. The website is misleading, promising a much wider range of food than is on offer.' Report
Cowfold Pubs : Hare & Hounds pub in Cowfold near Horsham 'This is a really good and welcoming pub, probably only get in there a couple of times a year but it's always fun. Good food, excellent beer.' Report
Flamborough Pubs : The Royal Dog & Duck pub in Flamborough near Bridlington 'Ate there a year or so back...was OK nothing outstanding. Nice pint of Bass.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Prior John pub in Bridlington 'I agree the JDW experience doesnt vary much. I don't really see it as a Pub - more of a licensed cafe with real ale. The food is average, but the drinks are cheap. The place is clean and warm, which is a cut above some other local pubs. Recently a beer festival offered a good range at about £1 a pint less than you'd pay elsewhere in the resort....and currently they are selling all their bottled wines at £6.99, even Chablis and the usually expensive reds.
JDW have their place in the market, but it wouldnt be my choice for a relaxing evening or meal out, more a place to pop into for an hour or so.
Staff? Friendly when they get to know you.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Stirling Castle pub in Bridlington 'Well, the cask John Smith's is OK and we've visited a few times - but I wont go back after encountering a member of the bar staff with a serious attitude problem. To be fair the management did try to put things right, but I wouldnt bother if I were you.' Report
Brough Pubs : Triton Inn pub in Brough near Hull 'Good service but food is quite expensive. More of a restaurant than a pub but real ale is there.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Greyhound Hotel pub in Bridlington 'Really not good at all. Staff will serve people they know before those they don't - hardly a way to build up business. And, from the look of the place, they certainly need to build up the customer base. The whole place looks tired and shabby.' Report
Flamborough Pubs : Ship Inn & Restaurant pub in Flamborough near Bridlington 'We had a meal there this week and yes, excellent it was. Service is good, beer's great. The food is as good as a couple of other places in the village that will charge you twice as much. They need a new credit card machine though - it wouldnt work for us.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Stirling Castle pub in Bridlington 'See my review of 31-1-08......Well, we did go back and yes the service was back to the earlier high standard' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Pack Horse Inn pub in Bridlington 'Actually it is much improved now. A Marstons pub, and new people took over some months back. Pedigree plus a decent guest ale always available.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Coachman pub in Bridlington 'Watch this space, though, as the pub is changing hands in the coming weeks and the standard may well drop!' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Hook & Parrot pub in Bridlington 'Well its open again but it's truly dreadful. Service is almost non-existent. They say Marstons are now running it - if that's the case they should be ashamed. I wont go back.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Coachman pub in Bridlington 'And, trust me, the pub has gone downhill. Avoid it.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Nags Head pub in Bridlington 'Totally disagree with the recent review.
People stand outside the front smoking and it neither looks welcoming nor feels it> And if your idea of a great pint of ale is John Smiths.......!!!!!!!!!!!' Report
Bridlington Pubs : Pack Horse Inn pub in Bridlington 'Fair point. Good luck to you both in York and yes, let's give the new people a go.
However, many think there are just too many pubs in Bridlington's Old Town now. It would be a hell of a shame if the Pack Horse didnt survive, as one of the best in the year or more.' Report
Bridlington Pubs : The Seabirds pub in Bridlington 'It was closed for a while - but really it hasnt improved at all. Really sad, once a great family venue.' Report
