Derby Pubs : The Rowditch Inn pub in Derby 'Classic pub. Open fire, warm welcome from staff and regulars.
The beer is exceptional. Marstons Pedigree plus two guest beers that change all the time, often during one evening.
This is a beer drinkers pub (in the best sense)and appeals to all ages and both sexes.
No food or children, dogs are welcome.
Pleasant, sheltered garden in good weather.
Outdoor smoking area.
Worth making a special journey if you are in the area, don't be put off by the nondescript front and the shabby ajoining shops. Mackworth buses pass the door every 10 minutes.

Derby Pubs : The Brewery Tap pub in Derby 'The Royal Standard has been completely refurbished to create a modern, traditional pub (I realise that sounds a bit odd). It's owned by and stocks a variety of draught beers from the Derby Brewery Company www.derbybrewing.co.uk plus a couple of guest beers, a large variety of bottled beers, good selection of wine and fresh coffee. Smokers are well catered for in the courtyard and there is a non-smoking roof patio. Speciality is a rack of five beers (1/3 pint glasses) with cheese for a fiver. Good service, good beer and a good atmosphere.' Report
